Challenge
Government-to-person (G2P) payments surged to unprecedented levels around the world as governments responded to the economic impacts of Covid-19. The massive scale-up of social protection programs tested the limits of existing G2P payment systems, highlighting the need to improve efficiency of payments delivery.
Solution
To address this need, Maltseven partnered with the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) to design a portal that simplifies, standardizes, and automates G2P payments delivery, making it easier for governments to send and manage payments at scale. The prototype enables various G2P programs to make payments into recipient accounts over multiple channels and through qualified financial service providers.
